The mill is closed to visitors.

The Historic Spring Mill:

Spring Mill, a cherished historical landmark, has stood the test of time, witnessing the ebb and flow of generations and the relentless march of progress. Today, it faces a new chapter in its storied existence. The mill will be temporarily closing its doors to visitors until at least August 30, 2024, to undertake a significant upgrade: the replacement of the main shaft.

This essential maintenance is a testament to the community's commitment to preserving the mill's legacy while ensuring its operation for years to come. The main shaft, a critical component of the mill's machinery, has been the backbone of its grinding operations, a silent witness to the countless grains turned into cornmeal over the decades.

While the temporary closure may disappoint some visitors, it is a pause that promises a new lease on life for the mill. It is an investment in the mill's future, securing its place not just as a relic of the past but as a functioning part of the community's present and future.

The mill's management thanks visitors for their understanding and looks forward to welcoming them back to a revitalized and even more enchanting experience post-renovation. In the meantime, the mill's story continues, and its wheels, though still for now, will soon turn again, as they have for generations. Stay tuned for updates on the renovation and the mill's reopening.
